Inter Kashi Eye First Points Against Odisha FC in ISL Clash at Balewadi

Pune: Inter Kashi Football Club will host Odisha Football Club in their second game of the MG Indian Super League 2026-27 here at the Shree Shiv Chatrapati Sports Complex in Balewadi on Saturday, October 17 2026. The hosts were beaten 0-2 by Kerala Blasters in their opening game while the visitors are also coming off a 1-2 defeat by Punjab FC. Inter Kashi head coach Carlos Vaz Pinto and midfielder Hitesh Sharma addressed the media ahead of the clash.

“We will be facing a very competitive team who put on a good performance in their first match of the season. Odisha FC also the advantage of having retained their head coach which brings to continuity to the ideas they want to implement,” said Vaz Pinto.

Having been thrown straight into the deep end to face Kerala Blasters with two days of training in unfamiliar surroundings, Vaz Pinto believes the team is settling in and will be in much better shape to try and get their first points on the board. “As we had barely any time to prepare for the first game against Kerala Blasters, the focus was on the defensive phase but with more time on the training ground, we are adding more detail to our game model both offensively and defensively to build the foundations,” he said.

Hitesh Sharma spent two seasons at Odisha FC and was enthused to take on more responsibility in the middle of the park, entrusted to him by head coach Vaz Pinto. “We are very positive because of the hard work we have been putting in – all across the club, be it staff or players,” he said. “I am learning more and more each day about how the coach wants me to play and the things I need to do in my role but I am enjoying it and having fun.”

The match will kick off at 5 PM and be streamed live on the MG ISL YouTube channel.
