Two flights diverted, many delayed due to low visibility at Pune airport

Two flights have been diverted while more are facing delays due to low visibility at the Pune airport on Friday morning.
An IndiGo flight from Delhi which was to land in Pune at around 8am was diverted to Mumbai. A Vistara flight coming to Pune from Delhi was also diverted to Mumbai, the airline informed on X (formerly Twitter) this morning.
Visibility dropped to almost 50 meters in the early morning hours, sources said.Around five arrivals, mainly from Delhi, were delayed at present, sources said, adding that the same had impacted many business flyers. Around 8 departures from Pune to different cities were also delayed.
While delays were causing anger and frustration among flyers, airline representatives said that impact of bad weather and low visibility was something unavoidable. A flyer complained that an IndiGo flight from Pune to Bengaluru had been delayed and flyers were sitting in the aircraft for an hour now.

“Flight 6E 391 has been delayed by more than 1 hour and we are sitting inside a plane for last one hour. We have infants with us and it’s breakfast time for them and everyone. But what every one is offered just tea in the name of refreshment nothing else. You guys should do something,” the passenger claimed on X.
The airline, on its part replied, “We would like to inform you that the flight is affected due to inclement weather in Pune. While it is never our intent to cause any discomfort, however, weather-related delays are beyond the control of the airline.”
