SSPMS, Dr Kalmadi Shamrao School register wins on opening day of Loyola Football Cup

Pune: The SSPMS Under-12 and Dr Kalmadi Shamrao School Under-16 teams registered wins on the opening day of the 8th edition of the Loyola Football Cup powered by Tata Autocomp which commenced at the Loyola School ground here on Thursday.

The tournament has been organised by Ex Loyola Alumni Network (ELAN).  A total of 14 teams will be seen in action in three categories which include Under-12, Under-14, and Under-16.

In the first game, SSPMS Under-12’s defeated Dr Kalmadi Shamrao School 4-0. Rakshid Patil scored the opener in the second minute. Later Swaraj Mane scored the second goal in the 11th minute.

Rakshid Patil struck for the second time in the 18th minute as the score read 3-0. Later Bhadra Nikubh added the fourth goal to the tally in the 25th minute.

In the Under-14 category, Dr Kalmadi Shamrao School defeated SSPMS 1-0 with Rudra Nalwade scoring the lone goal in the 25th minute.

In the Under-16 category, Dr Kalmadi Shamrao School dominated as they defeated SSPMS 5-2. Tanish Aychitte scored thrice in the 6th, 20th and 30th minutes while Darsh Solanki struck twice in the 44th and 60+1st minute.

For Dr Kalmadi Shamrao School, Shrinivas Mahale scored two goals in the 8th and 60+3rd minute.

Results:

Under-12: SSPMS 4 (Rakshid Patil 2nd,18th, Swaraj Mane 11th, Bhadra Nikubh 25th) bt Dr Kalmadi Shamrao 0.

Under-14: Dr Kalmadi Shamrao School 1 (Rudra Nalwade 25th) bt SSPMS 0.

Under-16: Dr Kalmadi Shamrao School 5 (Tanish Aychitte 6th, 20th,30th, Darsh Solanki 44th, 60+1st) bt Dr SSPMS 2 (Shrinivas Mahale 8th, 60+3rd).
