Pune: Players of Nikhil Kanetkar Badminton Academy (NKBA), Sukant Kadam and Pramod Bhagat had an unforgettable outing at the Egypt Para Badminton International 2026 as they delivered a power-packed performance, returning home with four gold medals between them.
Sukant Kadam fought a gripping battle in the Men’s Singles SL4 final, edging past fellow Indian Surya Kant Yadav 27-25, 21-18 to claim the top honour. Teaming up with Pramod Bhagat, he added another gold in the Men’s Doubles SL3–SL4 final.
Pramod Bhagat was equally impressive, securing gold in the Men’s Singles SL3 after a spirited comeback win against Umesh Kumar 19-21, 21-15, 21-13.
Speaking after the win Sukant said “Winning two gold medals in Egypt is a very encouraging start to the 2026 season. It reflects the quality of preparation and the strength of the team around me. Every tournament is a step forward, and the focus now is on building toward the World Championships.”
Commenting on the performance Nikhil Kanetkar said “Its a good start to the year 2026 with Pramod & Sukant winning 2 Titles each at Egypt. Now we will be preparing for the upcoming Para World Badminton Championships at Bahrain. Looking forward to a strong preparation & performance.”
