Pune: Poona Golf Club Captain, Lalit Chinchankar’s team comprising Ikram Khan, Gaurav Gadhoke and Deepa Dani putted splendidly to top score with 106 points to win the Diwali Cup at the par-71 Poona club course on November 5., despite the day the being the biggest festival of the year, 92 participants took part in the team event on an auspicious day.
Chinchankar’s team beat their nearest rivals by 4 points. The team finishing runners’ comprised Jaywant Thorat, Bhakti Thorat, Nitin Lunkad and Sangram Kirloskar, who logged 102pts.
Each team comprised four players and with the best three scores being considered towards the team total—in a completely new form of team Golf was conducted on the first weekend of the month.
The Poona Club Golf Course is India’s leading golfing destination which has given several top-notch golfers, not only at the national but also on the international level.
Two golfers from this course—Udayan Mane and Anirban Lahiri earned enough points to be in the top 60 in the World Golf Ranking List and qualified for the Tokyo Olympics and represented India at the quadrennial games.

2nd runner-up: Raghav Agarwal, MI Keong, Deepak Sood and Anuj Dhody scored (97ts).
