Sometimes in life, people discover an undying love and passion for certain things, places, people or causes. The founding fathers of the CARE Hospitals found their passion in Nampally in the year 1997 when the first CARE Hospital was established.
History
However, it doesn’t have the cliché rosy story that one would normally imagine. The night of the first Sunday of June 1997, saw some of the founders of the Organization visit the building that they planned on buying and converting into the Hospital. At the time, the building was that of Sampoorna Hotel that had been converted into the ABM Hospital. On the Sunday after that, negotiations began amongst the founding fathers of the CARE Hospitals and the owners of the ABM Hospital. Precisely a week after that, an agreement between the two parties was entered into. Subsequently, the CARE Hospitals was founded on the fourth Sunday of June 1977.
The ICCU was started on that very day and by the evening of that day, it was completely occupied. The owners have attributed this kind of success to the high degree of trust that people had in the founding group and in what they believed, especially the emphasis they place on patient care. Within a month, the first cardiac surgery was conducted successfully on the grounds of the CARE Hospital in Nampally, with great efficiency.
Vision
The founding fathers and the management of the CARE Hospitals firmly believe that the presence of medical ethos in every member of the medical fraternity is key to maintaining a healthy, selfless organisation and medical practice. The CARE Hospitals give to the world, the salient feature of ‘teams’ which is evident from the hospital specialists sleeping in the hospitals 24×7, to serve their patients as and when they require, without any undue delay. At the CARE Hospitals, the aim is to provide safe, efficient, effective, affordable, accessible, timely and sustainable medical care and healthcare facilities.
With the CARE Group of Hospitals, the objective is to evolve into a network system so that patient care is administered in a continuum.

The CARE Medical Centre is not just a hospital, it is an academic centre as well. Every decision made in an academic medical centre is peer-reviewed by an equally competent medical professional. This ensures that the Hospital always stays on the right side of medical practices. By making it an academic medical centre the aim was to integrate healthcare delivery, research, education, training and development into the medical practice followed at the Hospital.
