Good start for Strikers FC at Guru Tegh Bahadur football tournament

Pune: Strikers FC won 4-3 in sudden death over Shivneri Strikers FC in the 21st Guru Tegh Bahadur Gold Cup Football Tournament, being organised by Guru Tegh Bahadur Sports Foundation (GTBSF) and played at the COEP  ground, Shivajinagar. 

Aditya Kamble set the tone for Strikers FC with his 25th minute goal on a pass from Sagar Jadhav as the Strikers FC defeated Shivneri FC 4-3 in sudden death after the match ended 1-1 at the end of the regulation time. Tie breaker also failed to break the deadlock as the teams remained tied at 3-3. In the ensuing sudden death Strikers rode on to the strikes from Venkat Kodamuri, Omkar Narawde, Atharva Sanap, and Vishal Kumar,  while Rajesh Pawar, Harsh Pandey and Vishal Thapa scored for Shivneri, while Tejpal Kadayat missed scoring the spot kick.

The equaliser came  through Smith Rai on a pass by Hemant Caria in the 69th minute.

The tournament was inaugurated at the hands of Mr.Narendra Bhandari, Past international director of Lions Club International.
