Bridgestone headlines Nirmayan Golf Tournament to raise funds for NGOs

Pune: Bridgestone India, part of the Bridgestone Group -a global leader in tyres and rubber, building on their expertise to provide solutions for safe and sustainable mobility, announced on Wednesday the title sponsorship of the 4th edition of Nirmayan Charity Pro-Am Premium Golf Tournament.

The Company is committed to creating a meaningful difference for communities through serving society and strategically focuses on three key priority areas of People, Mobility and Environment for its CSR initiatives. Besides sponsoring this event, the Company has also provided support of Twenty-Five Lacs Rupees towards the causes identified through this association.

The Golf tournament will be held at The Poona Club Golf Course on Saturday, April 2. Another highlight of the event will be the auctioning of the personal sporting effects of Olympians, PV Sindhu, Mary Kom, Udayan Mane, Anirban Lahiri and Indian Cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

The proceeds from the event will go to the Indian Cancer Society and Yes! We Can and Mudita Foundation.

This year’s tournament will see 100 players (25 Professionals, 75 Amateurs) participate in the tournament along with star golfers Shiv Kapur, Shubhankar Sharma, SSP Chawrasia, Chikkarangappa, Rahil Gangjee, Rashid Khan, Khalin Joshi and more, who have represented India in the international arena as well as the Olympics, along with Bridgestone India’s brand ambassador Udayan Mane.

The tournament is a modified Texas Scramble, which involves 1 Pro and 3 Amateurs. After all, four team members hit their drives, the best player’s ball of the four drives is selected. The other three players pick up their balls and move them to the spot of the best drive. The second shots for all four players are played from that location. This process continues until the ball is holed.
