TERRE Policy Centre — the reputed and famous policy centre that offers Scholarships and Fellowships to students has now brought good news.

The Centre has extended the deadline for application to the national level ‘Dr. A P J Kalam Young Research Fellowship’ which it provides. Students can now fill the online application till January 31, 2021,i.e., Sunday. They offer this scholarship to encourage and nurture researchers’ creativity in the age group of 18 to 25.

It is the first-ever young research fellowship in the name of Dr A PJ Abdul Kalam.

In reverential memory of late President and Scientist Dr A.P.J Abdul Kalam, TERRE Policy Centre instituted the scheme for Dr A.P.J Abdul Kalam Young Research Fellowship to distinguish young Researchers from India with extraordinary promise and creativity who have made notable research contributions in the field of Environment protection. However, TERRE solely manages and funds this fellowship.

TERRE also is the abbreviation for ‘Technology, Education, Research and Rehabilitation for the Environment. ‘These four tools make-up their ‘environmental kit’ to undertake the work, always respecting the value of their ecosystems. With this toolbox’s help, they strive to reach all strata of society, particularly the young generation and people at the bottom of the pyramid.

Dr Vinita Apte, founder president of the institute, shared that at least 400 applications have received the Centre’s scholarship. Now with the extension, they expect these numbers to increase.

The TERRE Policy Centre will first examine the applications and present them in April. And then, interviews are there to take place with the jury in May. After these steps, they will announce the results in June. The five best students will receive Rs 25,000 and a certificate.
