Dr. Medha Kulkarni Leads “Pune on Pedals & Walkathon 2025” on PM Modi’s Birthday

The city of Pune came alive this morning with the “Pune on Pedals & Walkathon 2025”, a cycling and walking rally organised to mark the birthday of Hon. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The event, which began at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Statue, Kothrud, witnessed enthusiastic participation from Punekars of all ages.

Leading the event was Dr. Medha Kulkarni, BJP MP (Rajya Sabha), who joined the 5 km cycle rally riding a VIR BIKE, symbolising her commitment to sustainable and healthy living. Addressing participants, she said: “Cycling is not just an exercise — it is a way of life. On the occasion of our Hon. Prime Minister’s birthday, this event reminds us of his vision for a Fit India and a greener future. I encourage every citizen to adopt cycling, not only for health but also for the environment.”

The event included a 5 km Cycle Rally and a 2 km Walkathon, attracting citizens who came together to celebrate fitness, community spirit, and eco-friendly travel. Families, students, and senior citizens all joined in, highlighting the inclusive appeal of sustainable mobility.

By riding alongside citizens, Dr. Medha Kulkarni set an example of how small lifestyle choices such as cycling can have a lasting impact on personal well-being and the planet. Her participation resonated with the Prime Minister’s call for healthier habits and environmentally conscious living.

The event concluded with a pledge by participants to make walking and cycling a part of their daily routines, thereby contributing to a cleaner and fitter India.
