Pune: Global pop icon Enrique Iglesias is set to make a long-awaited return to India after 13 years, with a concert planned in Mumbai later this year. According to reports from Hindustan Times, the Spanish superstar will perform in October, reigniting excitement among Indian fans who last saw him on stage in the country in 2012.

A Gujarat-based event company is reportedly spearheading the initiative to bring the Hero and Bailamos hitmaker back to Indian shores, marking a major moment in the country’s growing calendar of international music events.

“Enrique will perform in Mumbai in October. An event company based in Gujarat is bringing him. This marks Enrique’s return to India after 13 years,” Hindustan Times quoted a source as saying.

Iglesias, who has sold over 180 million records worldwide, last toured India in 2012, performing in Pune, Gurugram, and Bengaluru. During his visit, the Latin pop star spoke highly of India, calling it “one of my favourite places” in an interview. In 2019, he even posted a nostalgic throwback video on Instagram from his trip to India, showcasing his fondness for the country.

His return comes amid a wave of international music acts performing in India. In recent months, Indian stages have welcomed the likes of Coldplay, Bryan Adams, Maroon 5, Akon, Tiësto, Alan Walker, Glass Animals, and Dua Lipa.

With anticipation building, fans can look forward to an electrifying evening as Enrique Iglesias brings his signature Latin flair and chart-topping anthems back to the Indian stage.
